Attendees Find New Technologies at FMA Congresses

Atlanta, GA. — April 22, 2009 —Todd Sauey, Chairman and CEO of Columbia ParCar, is always looking for new technologies to improve his business. ParCar is a maker of energy efficient, environmentally friendly electric vehicles, and are always on the lookout for new, clean ways to power their product. In an effort to find such new technologies, Sauey attended FMA’s Progressive Energy and Environment Congress in Atlanta, Georgia from the 20th to the 22nd of April, along with other companies like Alcoa, Pepsi and even the United States Navy.

“This show is a lot different,” commented Sauey when asked how the Congress compared with other events, “I was looking for new ways to power our vehicles, but I found many things that interested me from an operational standpoint…I’ve found this very educational. Lockheed is here, among other companies, and besides just learning, we’re seeing and meeting with companies we can do business with. What we’re looking for is the best technology has to offer, and we’re definitely finding it here and then some.”

Joe Piazza, Director of Business Development for FMA appeared at the event, on hand and available at all times. If he wasn’t speaking to the vendors, he was inquiring with attendees to make sure they were getting what they wanted, all the while helping companies meet each other and make deals.

The FMA Congress was very different from a traditional trade show in that its vendor list was select and the attendees, coveted purchasers like the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy, Howard Snow. The most telling aspect of the show’s success however, was the number of meetings that took place on the upper floors. Over the course of the two-and-a-half day event, it was difficult to find a conference room that stayed vacant for very long. By the time the Congress wrapped, most of the participants agreed that they would be back for future events. The exclusivity of the people in attendance, ultimately far outweighed the cost. As several CEOs noted, just one deal at an event like this makes it worthwhile, many were saying they did much better than that.
